Getting started laced is pretty simple, just follow the pattern that the rim came with. Focus on a group of 4 spokes at a time, and then repeat that pattern for the other 9 groups of 4 spokes to complete the rim. This first set of four is key, get it right and the rest will go a lot easier.
A good tool for this is a multi size spoke wrench. The Park tools red wrench typically fits regular bike wheels, and some have a special ring that works for hub motor spoke nipples.
If you don’t have a tool like this, Grin Cyclery has an online spoke calculator that will provide you with the correct length for your motor and rim. The other option is to just order a custom hub motor wheel from a shop that specializes in these types of wheel builds.
