The Attack of Mirrors
Brooklyn based rockers Moon Walker have recently shared their fiery new single & video, “Turn Off This Song (Before It Takes Your Soul)”. It marks the latest release from the band’s forthcoming MOON WALKER sophomore album, aptly titled The Attack of Mirrors. The ten-track effort sees lead singer/guitarist Harry Springer elevate the nostalgic, alternative garage rock sound that made his debut record, Truth to Power, so enticing by expanding on it with new elements and more ooh la la audio tricks than your average rock album.
Aside from its dazzling tech specs, the track also has a powerful message – one that’s relevant to our current state of affairs and a timely reminder of what’s at stake in 2022’s presidential elections. The track also comes with a slick, cinematic video that features the band playing their biggest hits at a stadium-sized concert in the midst of an all too real dystopia – a gimmick that is no doubt one of the reasons this album will be on your must-hear list come 2020. The most memorable moment of the track, though, is the’mimos’ sized one that comes in the form of a heart-pounding guitar solo and a jaw dropping performance by drummer Sean McCarthy.

The Midnight Club
The Midnight Club is an excellent show that takes inspiration from the work of the YA horror author Christopher Pike. Mike Flanagan, who wrote “The Haunting of Hill House,” “Midnight Mass” and other works, is adapting Pike’s novels for a 10-episode series that premieres October 7 on Netflix.
The show follows Ilonka (Iman Benson), a terminally ill MOON WALKER teen who is sent to Brightcliffe, a hospice that provides end-of-life care for young people who have lost the battle with disease and mental illness. She comes there hoping to find a method for overcoming her disease that one of the hospice’s previous patients used to get well.
As Ilonka enters the hospice she meets other terminally ill teens and their families, all of whom are trying to make the most of their final days with dignity and compassion. She also gets the chance to tell them stories around the table at midnight. These stories range from loving witches to possessed serial killers and detective dramas.
They are told that the stories they tell each other will provide them with answers to their questions, enabling them to cope with their death and find meaning in life. It’s a great idea, and it really helps to bring these kids together.
Their stories are based on Christopher Pike’s novels and include characters that appear in different seasons of the show. The stories are replete with horror and suspense, and they also have great pacing.
This is what makes the show so enjoyable. The characters have such a strong sense of character and personality that you feel like you’re really watching them.
The chemistry between Harry Springer and Sean McCarthy, who play guitar and drums in Moon Walker, is remarkable. They have a unique sound that is both raucous and intense. They fuse a wide array of genres into their music, from rock to post punk to funk.
