No Blind Spots
With TRUE 5MP high resolution, there are no blind spots that can’t be covered by your camera. Unlike low-resolution cameras with digital zoom, higher megapixel security cameras like Reolink RLC-523WA can zoom in to reveal rich details without any blurriness or losing image quality. Blind spots are areas that do not fall within your camera sensor’s Field of View (FoV), such as those blocked by furniture such as a bed, sofa, or dresser. They can also be hidden behind wall corners or entry hallways.
The 3.6mm wide-angle lens on this camera can easily cover these blind spots and ensure that your home is protected in full. This camera uses HD-over-Coax technology and can be installed using RG59 Siamese coax cable, just like traditional CCTV cameras.
Wide Dynamic Range
WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) technology allows a camera to capture images that are not washed out due to the wide difference in light between bright and dark areas. This ahd 5mp camera is particularly useful for areas such as entrance doors or windows that often have bright backlight compared to the interior space.
This technology works by capturing two images at different speeds/light levels and then merging them together to provide a more balanced image. It is available in both digital and true/optical versions of cameras. Digital WDR is more commonly seen and uses software to improve the image after it is captured while true/optical WDR utilizes hardware to improve the image in real time.
The quality of a camera’s WDR is typically measured in decibels (dB) and higher numbers are better. However, it is important to note that manufacturers may use different methods to determine dB and a camera’s dB rating does not necessarily indicate its level of quality.

IR Night Vision
Infrared light or IR, is electromagnetic radiation in wavelengths that are outside the visible spectrum. Digital night vision cameras use IR LED lights to illuminate the image and allow them to function in complete darkness without using any light from the visible light spectrum. Unlike analog night vision systems that produce black and white images or a green hue, these IR 5mp security cameras capture more pixels and can be zoomed in without the images becoming blurry.
The IR LEDs in these IR 5mp security cameras emit a light invisible to the human eye, but visible to the camera sensor. The camera uses this light to illuminate the scene and produce a crisp, clear image. This technology is ideal for outdoor surveillance, after-hours, and other locations where criminal activity occurs during the darkest hours of the day.
